Easy Beer Bread
With just 7 ingredients (that you probably have on hand) and 5 minutes to stir together the dough, this bread couldn’t be easier. Also, it’s pretty delicious too…warm, malty, soft—perfect paired with a hearty soup or on it’s own.
Recipe
Ingredients:
3 cups Yecora Rojo flour (All Purpose would work as well)
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
¼ cup honey
1 12oz can of beer (something like an Oktoberfest, nothing too bitter)
4 tbsp salted butter, in slices
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375.
In a bowl, stir together the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, sugar, salt).
Next add the honey and the beer.
Stir everything together until combined (don’t be afraid to get your hands in there!), until a dough ball forms (some beers yield a wetter dough, that’s fine!).
Butter a glass loaf pan, and push dough into an even layer into the pan.
Lastly, cut the 4 tablespoons of cold butter into slices, and evenly dispense the slices over the top of the dough.
(the butter can sometimes spill over in the baking process, so have a baking sheet under your loaf pan to prevent any burning in your oven)
Bake the bread for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Serve warm and topped with salted butter (honey-butter is also an excellent choice).
